Retail Imports Set to Rise


Retailers stocking up for Holiday should boost Aug. port traffic to the highest level since last fall, according the NRF and Hackett Associates’ Global Port Tracker. Now that tentative contract agreements have been reached at West Coast and Canadian ports and between UPS and the Teamsters, any threatening disruptions that lingered at the beginning of summer have abated, and a smooth shipping season ahead of holiday is expected.
