White House Details New Reciprocal Tariffs
The White House revealed Aug. 1 decision-day terms when the “Further Modifying The Reciprocal Tariff Rates” executive order hit late Thursday night, setting a 10% baseline tariff for countries where the U.S. holds a trade surplus and 15% for those where it has a deficit. The latter applies to about 40 countries. Over a dozen will be subject to levies of 15% or more.
