Net income ticked 1% higher to BRL 139,713,000 ($26.5 mm) from BRL 138,951,000 on net sales that were up 5% to BRL 761,003,000 ($144.6 mm) from BRL 723,920,000 for the second quarter. Domestic sales increased 9% to BRL 723.5 million, overcoming sluggish and highly promotional trends in the broader retail market.
