Vietnam Deal Done, Administration Readies Tariff Letters
Japan and South Korea will face 25% blanket levies starting Aug. 1, according to the first of a series of promised letters from the Trump Administration, unilaterally imposing tariffs after a deal with Vietnam was announced last week. Under the terms of the agreement, the U.S. is imposing a 20% rate on Vietnamese goods, while transshipments through Vietnam from third-party countries will see a 40% levy.
