Trump Threatens 100% China Tariff, Briefly
Another round of will-they-or-won’t-they in the tariff war found President Trump threaten an additional 100% tariff on Chinese goods following Beijing’s latest restrictions on rare earth minerals. The back-and-forth comes as Trump and President Xi are expected to meet during the APEC conference, which starts Oct. 31 in South Korea, and as the Nov. 10 end of the current 90-day truce over U.S. imposition of 145% tariffs on Chinese imports approaches.
