Trump Targets Mexico and Canada with Tariffs


President-elect Trump added another wrinkle to tariff worries with a Truth Social post promising a round of tariffs on top trade partners immediately upon inauguration, proposing a 25% tariff on all products from Mexico and Canada and an additional 10% for Chinese goods on top of existing rates. The proposal raises questions about USMCA violations and where the Chinese impositions fit into earlier threats of 60% or higher levies on goods from the PRC.
