Trump’s Reciprocal Tariffs Target Vietnam, Other Sourcing Countries - Updated
In a Rose Garden speech this afternoon, President Trump said his administration would impose retaliatory tariffs on countries that excessively tariff imports from the U.S., with a starting rate of approximately half “what they are charging us.” In addition, a baseline tariff of 10% on imports from all countries will go into effect on Apr. 5, and auto imports will see a 25% tariff in retribution for what Trump said are excessive tariffs on American cars by other countries.
