Trump Imposes 10% PRC Tariff and Kills De Minimis
Trade tensions ramped up Tuesday as China found itself the last remaining piece of Pres. Trump’s tariff trifecta, after Mexico and Canada received 30-day moratoriums in exchange for added border protections, prompting a series of retaliatory moves from the PRC. Along with an additional 10% levy on Chinese imports, Trump’s executive order also closed the de minimis loophole on goods coming from the country. The White House stated Trump is speaking with Chinese Pres. Xi Jinping on the matter today.
