Tilly’s Holiday Sales Come in Soft


The teen retailer said that revenues declined 7% to $139.7 million in the nine-week Holiday period from $150.9 million last year, comping down 9.0%, including -12.3% in stores partially offset by +1.6% online. Midwest, New England and the Northwest were called out as least-worst, falling only single digits, while the rest of the country declined double digits. Footwear was the only positive category, comping up single digits, with Reebok and New Balance gaining a bigger share of shelf space as Vans has struggled recently.
