Teen Survey Sees Upstarts Gaining Mindshare
Athletic apparel is trending downward after strong demand in recent years while smaller brands continue to chip away at Nike’s leading mindshare in footwear and apparel, according to the Spring 2025 Taking Stock with Teens survey from Piper Sandler. Self-reported annual spend was $2,388, up 1% from the Spring ‘24 survey, implying total spending of $66.0 billion. Teens with a part-time job stood at 37%, up 300 b.p. from Fall ‘24 but contracting 100 b.p. year-over-year.
