Tariff Refund Portal is Live, with A Few Hiccups
Phase I of IEPPA tariff refunds is underway, as Customs and Border Protection’s CAPE portal went live Monday, with initial functionality reported to be working smoothly, though several complaints have surfaced on major outlets. CBP data showed that 56,000 importers had registered for refunds by Apr. 9, with 82% of IEPPA payments, or $127 billion, eligible for refunds during Phase I.
