Supremes Reject Trump’s Reciprocal Tariffs
The Supreme Court struck down the majority of the Trump administration’s tariff slate in its long-awaited decision handed down Friday morning, though the ruling provided no guidance on a refund schedule, which will presumably be bounced back to the lower courts to adjudicate. Upholding earlier federal trade court and federal appeals court decisions, the highest court ruled against the global reciprocal tariffs and the punitive fentanyl trade tariffs aimed at China, Mexico, and Canada, both enacted under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.
