Super Retail Group’s Sports Banners Comp Higher
The down-under retailer provided a trading update for the first 16 weeks of the new fiscal year in conjunction with its annual meeting, reporting total comps up 2.6%, with a 5% net sales gain, including Rebel Sport, BCF, Macpac, and the Supercheap Auto banner. Rebel comps were up 3.2% with +4% sales and accelerating momentum into Oct., as softness in soccer and basketball was offset by strength in sneakers.
