States, Companies Take Aim at Trump’s Section 301 Tariffs
The latest slate of Section 301 tariffs is collecting a familiar coalition of foes after 25 Democratic-led states filed suit Monday on the grounds that USTR Greer rushed the process on forced labor investigations. The states’ move followed the Liberty Justice Center and Illinois-based small businesses, which were parties to the IEEPA challenge, filing suit shortly after the new levies were implemented. The states filed their complaint in the U.S. Court of International Trade, seeking a stop to the tariffs and refunds for any duties paid thus far.
