NRF Survey Augers Strong Back-to-School Growth


Back-to-School spending by K-12 parents is guided to hit a record $41.5 million, according to the National Retail Federation’s annual survey, up 12% over ’22. Back-to-College spend will likewise top last year’s record performance, spiking 27% to $94 billion. K-12 families are planning an average total spend of $890.07, ticking up 3% to a new high. While Deloitte data showed spending on tech down from its lockdown heights, NRF reports the category is behind this year’s increase, with a record 69% of BTS shoppers expecting to buy electronics or computer-related accessories, ...
