In an exchange of letters between the government and attorneys for accused blackmailer Michael Avenatti, the Eager Beavertons confirmed they have been cooperating with the federal government’s investigation into college basketball recruiting for nearly two years and said it has not made illegal payments nor did it commit any crime. The E.B.s are arguing that they shouldn’t have to comply with a request by Avenatti’s lawyers to turn over documents that will supposedly prove his allegations of the illegal payments.
