Newell Maps Outdoor’s Future, Girds for Tariffs


The company’s turnaround program for its outdoor/recreation has progressed more slowly than its other divisions, NWL told the Morgan Stanley Global Consumer & Retail Conference, but the category is looking healthy on regulation and tariff fronts. Newell has already moved to clear out all PFAS inventory ahead of multiple states’ regulations taking effect in ‘25, with new regulatory-compliant apparel and gear now in the pipeline. However, most new products for the outdoor segment won’t arrive until 2026.
