New Variant Outbreaks Hit China, Vietnam
Renewed Covid-19 outbreaks attributed to the “Stealth Omicron” variant in areas of China and Vietnam have put logistics firms on notice and threaten production slowdowns across industries. China leaned into its “zero Covid” policy Sunday by locking down southeastern tech-hub and major port city Shenzhen for seven days. Various outlets report all businesses there will be shuttered until Mar. 20, though Bloomberg reported the city’s Yantian Port remains operational with tighter restrictions.
