Today, the Trump administration abruptly paused the nonsensical “reciprocal” tariffs it imposed last week on nearly every country in the world, reverting to the 10% base tariff on all trading partners that it announced in Feb. The exception is China, which will now face a 125% tariff on shipments to the U.S. after a week of belligerent messaging between Beijing and Washington.
