Mainland Headwear’s Profit Halved


The Hong Kong-based manufacturer’s net income attributable to shareholders tumbled 52% last year to HK$57,074,000 ($7.4 mm) from HK$117,949,000 on 4% higher sales of HK$1,474,488,000 ($191.5 mm) up from HK$1,418,994,000. Although sales in major American and European markets remained sluggish, Mainland mitigated losses by taking advantage of its global production facilities, including a new plant in Mexico.
