Broadly higher profitability across sectors was pulled down by a 10-digit writedown at Topgolf Callaway that resulted in total net income of $2,873.3 million, up from $2,830.5 million on 4% higher revenues of $60,675.7 million against $58,567.6 million at the 50 public companies we track. Apparel, diversified, footwear, and retail sectors all inked solid profit gains, and the equipment sector would also have been positive, save for MODG.
