Holiday Outlook Depends On Stimulus, Vaccine, Study Finds
While retail analysts are pegging total holiday sales to inch up just 1% to 1.5% to the $1.147-$1.152 trillion range, they expect a drastic pull forward for the season and boost in e-commerce and omnichannel demand in the Covid-19 challenged environment. Deloitte LLP’s latest projections call for e-commerce growth of 25% to 35%, lapping 2019’s 14.7% increase. The growth will put online sales between $182 and $196 billion and offset brick-and-mortar softness.
