Global Sports Apparel Market Inched Higher in 2023


Decelerating again after 2022’s tepid improvement, branded athletic apparel sales grew by just 1.7% last year to $121,098 million from $119,113 million, also underperforming sneaker sales, which increased 6.7%. Asia/Pacific was the only geography to grow in 2023, expanding by 10.0% to $28,651 million from $26,045 million helped by China’s post-Zero Covid reopening. The U.S. market slipped 0.7% to $52,324 million from $52,683 million, Europe fell 0.6% to $30,573 million from $30,760 million, and Other regions—mainly Canada, and Latin and South America for most companies—dipped 0.8% to $9,550 million from $9,625 ...
