Garmin’s Fourth Quarter Powered by Wearables


GRMN’s Fitness and Outdoor segments finished the year strong, with Fitness revenues improving 42% to $765,839,000 from $539,305,000, while Outdoor was flat at $627,611,000 against $629,373,000. Wearables propelled Fitness’ gains, while a 59% gross margin helped drive a 61% jump in operating income to $256,938,000. During the quarter, Garmin collaborated with healthcare payments provider Truemed to assist customers who wish to use pre-tax HAS/FSA funds for qualifying purchases of select GRMN products.
