The International Longshoremen’s Association stood by its strike plans in a statement issued Sunday, indicating a work stoppage will hit at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday across the East and Gulf coasts’ ports as massive numbers of containers were expedited through the Port of New York and New Jersey among others to prepare for the first East Coast shutdown since 1977.
