Net income at Caleres dropped 34% to $33,943,000 from $51,178,000 in Q2 on sales that were down 6% to $695,533,000 over $738,330,000. Famous sales declined 5% to $414.2 million, with comps down 4.3% due to weakness early in the quarter, as sinking May results eased in June before a significant Back-to-School pickup in July held the decline to the mid-singles.
