DSW Revenues Drop Double Digits as Nike Returns
The Swoosh will return to DSW shelves in Oct., more than a year after the family shoe chain was cut off as part of the giant sportswear brand’s purge of “undifferentiated retail,” from its wholesale relationships. The move is further evidence that the Eager Beavertons’ laser-like focus on prioritizing DTC has softened somewhat. Earlier this week, Macy’s also touted the return of Nike apparel and accessories. Designer Brands chief Doug Howe said that Nike allocations would give its men’s, women’s and kids business a boost both in stores and online.
