Designer Brands Sees Return to Black Ink This Year


Net loss attributable to DBI narrowed 48% to $19,992,000 from $38,168,000 in the fourth quarter, though sales were flat at $713,589,000 compared to $713,572,000. Comps declined 1.9% as improvements in boots, affordable luxury, and accessories were more than offset by other categories. Retail sales, the newly combined reporting segment for the U.S. and Canadian DSW fleets, inched up 0.1% to $655.9 million with a negative 1.7% comp.
