China Gets De Minimis Reprieve


De minimis exemptions for Chinese goods have been restored per a Friday executive order from President Trump, pending Commerce Department assurances that customs officials can handle a massive influx of products that would be subject to formal processing. Trump’s latest executive action undid the de minimis-stripping provisions of his previous order, tacking an additional 10% tariff on Chinese goods, which took effect last Tuesday.
