Canadian Port Deal is Off as UPS Deadline Looms
A tentative agreement to end the Canadian West Coast port strike fell through Tuesday, and 7,500 dock workers at the ports of Vancouver and Prince Rupert resumed their strike. Federal mediators helped broker a four-year wage deal between the International Longshore and Warehouse Union and the British Columbia Maritime Employers Association last week after calls from Canadian and American officials for government intervention.
