AlixPartners Sees Lower Holiday Sales Growth
The global consulting firm is forecasting tepid, 3% to 6% growth in U.S. retail sales this Holiday season, concurring with Deloitte’s earlier forecast that consumers will spend less, and focus on value for dollar this year. Consumers will face multiple headwinds that will impact willingness to spend, including pressures from inflation, higher interest rates, high credit-card debt, and student loan payments resuming this fall.
