Gildan Activewear Sales Tick Higher


GIL didn’t comment on the ongoing proxy battle for the company’s board, as it reported 83% higher net income of $153.3 million in the final quarter against $83.9 million on a 9% increase in sales to $782.7 million from $720.0 million. The bottom line benefitted from a $40.8 million impairment reversal, lapping a negative $62.3 million impact in the prior year, related to the hosiery business.
