Net income was ¥7,097 million ($62.9 mm) against a loss of ¥20,327 million for the FY ended Dec. 31 as sales fell 2% to ¥378,050 million ($3,351.5 mm) from ¥386,662 million though operating income was essentially flat at ¥10,634 million against ¥10,515 million.
Caleres said that Famous Footwear same store sales increased 5.1% in the fourth quarter, and the banner’s top line was about $370 million, up from $365 million in Q4 last year, but weakness at the brand portfolio pulled total sales down 3% to about $700 million from $720 million.
Sales at NWL’s Home and Outdoor Living segment, which includes Coleman, declined 5% to $768.2 million in the final quarter from $808.8 million with core Outdoor sales lower, and reported an operating loss of $10.2 million against operating profit of $45.5 million.
YY’s manufacturing segment posted an implied 22% year-over-year decline to $430,607,000 in Jan. from $553,215,000 while Pou Sheng retail sales increased 21% to $447,455,000 from $370,827,000 to start 2020.
Adjusted sales for sporting goods/hobby/book and music stores declined 2% last month to $6,376 million from $6,492 million, according to Commerce Dept.
