Asics Swings to Profit in 2019 As It Invests In Marketing


Net income was ¥7,097 million ($62.9 mm) against a loss of ¥20,327 million for the FY ended Dec. 31 as sales fell 2% to ¥378,050 million ($3,351.5 mm) from ¥386,662 million though operating income was essentially flat at ¥10,634 million against ¥10,515 million. For the final quarter, Asics had an indicated net profit of ¥169 million ($1.5 mm) against a net loss of ¥28,615 million with sales up 1% to ¥91,884 million ($814.6 mm) from ¥90,982 million.
