While the value of sneaker imports continues to moderate and apparel imports remain cautious, solid equipment imports in golf, outdoor, exercise and winter sports helped the market record a 7.5% increase in imports for the final quarter of 2018 to $6,062.3 million compared to $5,639.3 million and overall imports for the full year rose a solid 4.1% to $23,193.5 million vs. $22,279.0 million as the inventory issues that have caused some categories to yoyo up and down appear to be receding. Conzzeta Group’s Outdoor division, which mainly consists of Mammut, grew sales 11% in 2018 to CHF 253.4 million ($254.6 mm) with double-digit gains in Europe, the Americas and Asia.
