Zumiez’ Rebound Continues into Holiday


Returning to profitability after a string of tough quarters, the teen retailer’s net income was $1,159,000 in the third quarter against a $2,231,000 loss, as revenues grew 3% to $222,475,000 from $216,339,000. Comp store sales jumped 7.5%, but the impact of the calendar shift pulled total sales down about 510 basis points. Momentum continued into Q4, with quarter-to-date sales up 10%, including +2.9% comps, driven by North American and a surging women’s category.
