Although Europe remains a weak spot in its global picture, some solid gains in the core U.S. market have Big Foot feeling like its momentum is back as it reported net income of $88 million for the second quarter ended Aug. 4, up 73% from $51 million last year, with sales up 5% to $1,782 million from $1,701 million.
The net loss was $1,222,000 against a loss of $3,176,000 in the second quarter ended Aug. 4 as sales increased 12% to $211,123,000 from $187,958,000 with comps up 4.1%, lapping last year’s disastrous -11.7% comp.
Athleta and Intermix sales increased 14% to $264 million in the second quarter with double-digit comps, and the Gap-owned women’s athletic chain opened seven more stores, ending with 154 locations.
The Ugg parent says that Pink Label is knocking off its Bailey Button Boot trade dress with a similarly styled boot.
