Under Armour Puts MyFitnessPal on the Block


Under Dog is looking to sell the food consumption and exercise tracking app and website that it acquired in 2015 for $475 million, according to a report in The Information, citing sources close to the matter. The MFP acquisition came as part of a technology buying spree in the industry that also saw Adidas’ acquisition of Runtastic for €220 million and Asics’ $85 million Runkeeper deal. Nike went in the opposite direction, shutting down its fitness band business in favor a partnership with Apple, and developing its own fitness apps.
