SportChek Comps Accelerate in Q3
Sales at Canadian Tire’s sports banners grew 3% in the third quarter to C$543.3 million ($411.3 mm) up from $528.5 million including same store sales that were up 4.6% lapping a 2.2% increase last year. Sales per square foot gained 2% to C$304 compared to C$298. Athletic footwear, clothing accessories and athletic apparel were the top performing categories, and sales got a boost from a strong Back-to-School season and a better inventory position in key categories.
