Kohl’s Active Brands Drive Q1 Recovery


Active sales nearly doubled in the first quarter, comping against the retail shutdowns last year, and were up mid-teens from Q1 ’19 as they now account for 23% of sales, up from 20%. The gains came from Nike, Under Armour and Adidas, as usual, with Champion called out for growing “multiples” off a small base last year. The private label FLX brand had encouraging results, and will be expanded to 500 stores this fall with a broadened assortment.
