The National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment has sued the lacrosse unit of Performance Sports Group (formerly Bauer) for breach of contract, alleging the Performance Lacrosse Group falsely claimed NOCSAE certification on its Cascade Model R lacrosse helmet and used the name, marks and goodwill of the Missouri nonprofit to promote and sell its products. The 22-page, federal complaint was filed Dec. 4 in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri.
