Vista Outdoor Results Slip as Metz Departs
Just before releasing its results for the Dec. quarter, VSTO announced that CEO Chris Metz is out, and has been replaced by board member Gary McArthur on an interim basis. The company’s board of directors had lost confidence in Metz’s leadership, it said in a release, adding the decision was “for reasons not involving financial reporting or internal controls.” Metz’ came to the top job five years ago, succeeding Mark DeYoung during a time when Vista was struggling with stagnant demand and burdened by huge debt from several expensive acquisitions.
