Total compensation of the top 130 executives at public sporting goods companies was $377,315,869 in 2017, with comparable pay for those in their position at least a year down 1%, lapping a 5% increase in 2016. Mean compensation was $2,902,430 last year, down from $2,952,062 in 2016. CEO average pay was up 2% to $4,948,790 from $4,855,185, with the 2016 number distorted by Acushnet’s former chief Wally Uihlein’s IPO bonus and stock award.
