U.S., China Appear Close to Announcing Trade Deal
While there are still details to be negotiated, the two sides have evidently reached agreement on enough of the substance to schedule a meeting between President Trump and President Xi that would end the months-long trade war between the two countries. The exact timing and place of the meeting have yet to be agreed upon, with the U.S. preferring the President’s Mar-a-Lago estate and the Chinese pushing for a formal state visit to Washington or a neutral site. The meeting would take place later this month.
