Skechers is taking an agonistic approach to investment in e-ecommerce versus brick-and-mortar growth as the company moves through pandemic recovery, it told the Goldman Sachs Global Retailing Conference. The company is prioritizing its standalone, big box-style footprint for new store growth. The format has led the recovery by dodging impacts like indoor mall shutdowns and tourist-driven traffic faced by concept stores and outlet stores, respectively.
