The trade group added its voice to the SFIA and OIA opposing the imposition of 10-25 % tariffs on certain winter sports products before the USTR public hearings. “I can say with absolute certainly that this will be the case for the ski gloves, hats and head gear, helmets and sports bags included on the proposed 301 tariff list,” SIA president Nick Sargent testified, adding “There is no U.S. production of the products of interest. Thus, removing these products from the USTR list would not boost US productivity and jobs and effectively reach your intended outcome.”
