Shoe Carnival Sees Supply Pressure Continuing
Shoe Carnival characterized its ongoing supply chain issues as “rolling lateness,” getting product a month late but maintaining a favorable assortment to support growth, in a round table discussion at the Sidoti Investor Conference. That situation is expected to continue through the end of the year at least, but heading into Back-to-School, per store inventory stood 4% up over ’20 but 4% down from ’19 levels. The Covid flare ups hitting Nike suppliers in Vietnam won’t slow down SCVL’s roll out of shop-in-shops for its most important athletic brand.
