Shenzhou, Eagle Nice Slow Output as Covid Spreads in Vietnam


Shenzhou International is the latest Nike and Adidas contractor curtailing operations in its Vietnamese factories due to rising Covid-19 cases in that important sourcing country. The Chinese apparel manufacturer outlined restrictions, including reducing fabric production in Tay Ninh Province to 30% of capacity; garment factories in Ho Chi Minh City being reduced to 33% capacity; and another garment factory in an outlying province fully suspending operations. The reductions are expected to last two weeks from Monday’s implementation. The company estimates the move could drop the Vietnam group’s total annual production output by 1-2%.
