Schuylkill Valley Looks to Reset as It Closes Nine of 10 Stores
The venerable PA full line sporting goods store is liquidating inventory and fixtures at all but one of its remaining stores and planning to recast the chain with retail stores that have a smaller footprint along with its team business and e-commerce business. The chain has survived many years by focusing on small markets on the outskirts of Philadelphia that are too small to accommodate a big box, but has evidently concluded that even that strategy will not prove viable under the current circumstances.
