Retail Imports Continue Momentum in May
Continued strong consumer demand powered a 52% jump in May to 2.33 million twenty-foot equivalent units coming through U.S. ports, a new record for any month, according to the NRF and Hackett Associates. The outsized gains were lapping last year’s shutdowns, but the total also exceeded 2019’s May numbers by a significant 26%.
